ALP’s Energy Storage Systems employ the best technology available: manganese–based Lithium Ion cells. The advantage of using lithium manganese cells lies in their high discharge rate capability.
A 2.9 Ah Lithium Ion cell can deliver over 100A current.

As a result, the high power requirements of electric and hybrid electric drives can be satisfied by smaller capacity packs. Lithium Ion’s cell energy density of 110Wh/kg and its power density of 1500 W/kg represent the state-of-the-art in battery technology. Lithium manganese technology also makes it possible to build larger storage systems while maintaining high safety characteristics.

Lithium Ion cells are also more environmentally friendly than traditional batteries. They contain no environmentally harmful materials and are 100% recyclable. The cells are mass manufactured for a variety of industrial applications, which helps to reduce the cost.

A precise, high-technology manufacturing process ensures the highest possible quality. The consistency and uniformity of the cells in a large pack is of paramount importance to ensure durability. If cell characteristics do vary across the pack, they must be balanced by a sophisticated control system. The cells used by ALP are virtually identical, so cell balancing requirements are greatly reduced, and even after an extended period of use, all cells in the pack remain at the same charge level.
